'Losing weight' has to be the most cliche' new years resolution on the face of the planet. Technically, it's not this year's resolution, but a major part of my 2012! Despite 30 being a horrific number, it really hasn't been all that bad. Matter of fact, it has been the best 5ish months. Something just clicked, I plugged into a Biggest Loser competition and since October I have changed my life around completely. I'm currently in my 2nd Biggest Loser Competition and in 2nd place 3 weeks into it. Just being healthier isn't exactly something that is measurable, so here are my measurable goals for the following year in terms of getting healthy:
* Win my 2nd Biggest Loser Competition and lose a minimum of 20 more pounds
* Join a 3rd Biggest Loser Competition and lose a minimum of 20 more pounds
* Down to my goal weight by May 1st and/or the end of the 3rd Challenge
* Go 2012 miles in 2012 ... bookmark this page & you can track this adventure here.
In addition to physically bettering myself I want to make sure I am keeping the rest of life in balance, so here are a few of my other goals for this year.
* Making 1 on 1 time with each kid a daily priority. To keep track of this I am planning to pray with and for each of the kids at some point in my day.
* Praying daily for my husband. I have had a google calendar on my calendar for a few years but rarely follow through. Every day, I'll be following my calendar, praying & reading scriptures with my husband in mind. If you'd like to join me, here's the link to the calendar I use.
* Write a family mission statement, have it printed fancy, framed & hang it up somewhere in the house.
This is the first year I have made new year resolutions. Do you make resolutions? Do you think they are corny? I definitely think they are kinda corny, but I'm going to give it a go. Every month I'll try and revisit my resolutions and blog about where I'm at with them. Happy 2012 Everyone!
