Anything & Everything

I missed my Wedded Bliss Wednesday & my Taking Back Thursday posts because I was busy cleaning, prepping, baking, cooking, decorating, and everything & anything else that goes into planning a birthday party for my now 6 year old daughter! This week was a blast & jam packed full of anything and everything but sleep!

A friend & I enjoyed the Monday night Packer/Viking game, thanks to a great husband who gave me 2 tickets & the night off of mommy duty. It was a blast & of course Packers won, 9-0 for the season!
It was pretty special to be a part of this card stunt, I think our side read Thank You Military, but not sure as I could only see the opposite side :)
So I got nothing profound on Wedded Bliss, but that we all sometimes really drop the marriage ball. I not only dropped it but kicked it pretty far, too. A big sorry to my husband, who is off on his 2011 deer hunting adventure, for letting you go under my radar and taking a back seat to other less important things this entire week. It's definitely not ok to drop the ball, but it happens & it's best to take ownership of your shortcomings and talk things out & personally try to be sure the same circumstances don't reoccur.

Taking Back Thursday ... after a disappointing last week of dropping barely 1lb, I kicked it back in high gear losing almost 3 more pounds and bumping my percentage up past 7%! I am really enjoying exercising and it's becoming addicting. The first 15 minutes of either aerobics or a Y workout royally sucks. But if I can make it through the pain and mental battle to enjoy kid free time in the lounge rather than bonding with the weight machines, bikes & treadmills than I am good to go for my 2 hour work out Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. I have to really push myself to get over the flop-on-the-couch and sleep 15 minute mental torture session for every aerobic workout I do at home. I thought step aerobics looked fun. Fun as in not much on me doesn't hurt, was not quite the fun I had in mind. It feels great to get my goals on track with not only eating but also exercising, too. I made it through the birthday party without ruining my calorie/protein/fiber goals and about an hour ago at 9:30pm was the first chance I've had to really sit down since I woke up this morning. My pedometer thingy says that I clocked nearly 14,000 steps despite not having hit the gym or turned the annoying in home aerobics instructor on. It was a busy day! Now to get through Thanksgiving without ruining my 10% goal by December 8th!
Still in 1st & hoping to bring it this next week!
Hard to believe I have a 6 year old already! 6 years ago today I remember pushing for 2 long hours and finally hearing my sweet Ella cry, but that's about all I remember after she was born. I heard, "she's going to die if we don't hurry" and then passed out. I am so thankful for an awesome doctor who saved my life & took measures to assure I could have more children! About 10 hours after Ella was born I finally got to meet her and hold her. She's been an amazing example of childlike faith. Ella excels in everything she does - whether it takes her 5 seconds or 5 minutes, she puts forth 100% effort to understand & master concepts before moving on. She's a mini mom, who enjoys playing house, Sunday school, & school with her brothers. She has quite an intense, dramatic, emotional, internalizing, caring, sensitive young girl. It's an honor to be her mother, and although challenging at times, I wouldn't trade my Ella Bella for anything in the world. Here's a few pictures of the fun we had today!

A giant cupcake and a few regular cupcakes for Ella's party with her school friends.

The birthday table set up ready for a wild & riveting game of Pixie Fairy Bingo!

Fun buttercream roses tipped purple, pink & green

Ella picked these turkey cupcakes out as treats to bring in for her birthday

The whole herd/gaggle/flock/whatever you call it of turkeys for Ella's class (cupcake, frosting, Oreo + candy corn = super easy, huge hit!)

Ella, Bren & Connor decorated the front windows for Ella's big day!
